Hi Andrew,
GreetingsArticle 3.2 states:
I think the changes represent a logical and positive step as the program matures.
One question I have is. For the 2 SC members that are appointed, it isn't clear to me that they are (or are not) subject to the same limits as elected members. Would the appointments be for 3 years? Staggered? Limited to a maximum number of (consecutive) appointments?
"[...]The founding organization (the Internet Society) may appoint one member, at its discretion, annually."
Which was supposed to convey that every year they have to appoint someone, which may be just a re-confirmation. So basically, the term is one year, although it may be the same person forever.
Sec 3.3 indicates that _elected_ members are subject to such terms, implying that appointed members are not. Maybe that's enough, or maybe an explicit explanation would make it clearer.
Indeed, the terms specified in article 3.3 only apply to elected
members, hopefully that reinforces the point in 3.2 above.
But please let me know if you think that we should make this more
explicit. E.g. by adding that these conditions do not apply to
appointed members?
Minor editorial note. The first, annotated version, has two section 3s. This might be due formatting to show the changes, but something I noticed.
Thank you for catching this. We'll fix it.
Thank you for your input!
Regards,
Andrei
Thanks
